An Atlanta patient suffering chronic or acute back pain now has a high-tech non-surgical treatment that can eliminate the need for back surgery and provide lasting back pain relief. The computer controlled DRX9000™ gently and precisely stretches your spine as you relax comfortably on the decompression machine.
As the spinal decompression therapy stretches your spine, pressure between your spinal discs is reduced and that in turn eases the pressure on sensitive nerves, tissues, and the ligaments that hold the spine together. Back pain relief occurs as a result.
Decompression causes a herniated or bulging spinal disc to return to its normal shape, since spinal decompression creates a vacuum effect that returns leaking tissue back within the spinal disc. This stops the bulging tissue from causing pain by pressing on nerves, tissues and ligaments.
The spinal decompression treatment stimulates an increase in nutrients and oxygen needed to heal injured issues by increasing blood circulation into spinal discs and joints.
Your discs are stretched only a tiny bit during each spinal decompression treatment, but as treatments are repeated over several days, the results are dramatic.
"Spinal decompression gives back pain relief to patients suffering from lower back pain or leg pain caused by spinal nerve problems." says Atlanta doctor Timothy Dembowski.
Are you or a family member dealing with complications from unrelenting back pain, neck pain and/or sciatica? If so read over the following questions:
If you have answered yes to any of the above questions you maybe a candidate for non-surgical spinal decompression.
In 1985 Dr. Allen Dyer PhD, MD developed and pioneered the process of spinal decompression and introduced the first non-surgical spinal decompression table in 1991 called the Vax-D. The original Vax-D table was controlled by a pressurized gas system that gently applied and released tension creating a traction force in which purpose was to reduce muscle guarding and spasm.
In 2004, Vax-D medical technologies introduced the G2, an enhanced version of the original table, which replaced the pressurized gas system with more precise electronically driven components and also added a computer control system, which instituted a logarithmic curve. Over the last few years several other manufacturers have built their own versions of the decompression table using the principles set fourth by Dr. Dyer.
With the patient laying flat on the table, non-surgical spinal decompression is accomplished through the use of a mechanical traction device in conjunction with a computer that controls the angle, force, and duration of disc distraction. These factors work together to reduce the body’s natural propensity to resist external forces which can generate muscle spasm.
This enhanced control allows non-surgical spinal decompression tables to apply a pinpoint traction force to any specific disc or discs of the spinal column reducing intradiscal pressure without having to overcome the body’s inherant musculature. Unlike previous non-computer controlled traction tables where almost four times more force needs to be applied to overcome the body’s resitive forces, today’s tables can affect the disc with minimal amount of force resulting in little to no pain for the patient.
Patients with bulging spinal discs, ruptured discs, herniated discs, degenerated discs, sciatica, stenonsis, arthrosis, and joint facet syndrome are candidates for spinal decompression treatment.
86% of patients report favorable results. Dr. Dembowski only treats patients who are good candidates for back pain relief using spinal decompression.
Forty-five minutes is the length of a typical spinal decompression treatment.
The doctor will recommend a treatment plan depending on your back pain condition. Often spinal decompression is given five days a week for four weeks at our Atlanta office.
Spinal decompression usually provides long lasting relief so you do not have to be treated again.
Most patients work while receiving spinal decompression treatments. If you job involves stressful activities, your doctor may recommend you wear a brace or limit activities when your treatment begins.
The cost depends on how many treatments your doctor recommends before you begin your treatment for back pain relief. The cost is low compared to back surgery, and we have payment plans so it's affordable within your budget.
Before your treatment begins, the doctor's office in Atlanta will check if your your health insurance pays all or part of your spinal decompression treatment cost.
Osteomalacia (severe osteporosis), myelitis, anklyosing spondylitis, fractures, and unstable spondylolisthesis with pars defects, post surgical conditions where metal implants (rods, cages and screws) have been used, cancer or tumors.
Patients treated with back surgery can usually have spinal decompression providing you do not have metal implants.
Doctor Timothy Dembowski"I'm excited to bring spinal decompression to Atlanta because it has an 86% success rate for treating back pain.
Back pain affects 8 out of 10 people during their lives. Every month, over two million people search Google for back pain.
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive treatment that gives back pain pain relief without back surgery and drugs.
You may be a candidate for spinal decompression if you suffer from chronic back pain, severe back pain, sciatica (a pinched nerve), stenosis (narrowed space between spinal discs), a bulged or ruptured spinal disc, a herniated disc, or a degenerative disc.
Not everyone who suffers back pain can be helped by spinal decompression, because back pain has several causes.
I'll be happy to meet with you at my Atlanta office to advise you if spinal decompression is right for you."
by Doctor Timothy Dembowski
"Those needles and pain meds, I can't stand them, but I don't want surgery." Richard was desperate when he came to the Atlanta SpinalAid office of Doctor Timothy Dembowski. Having severe back pain for five years, he had been to many doctors and had multiple opinions, but it didn't seem to help.
"I don't understand it, I've tried all the conventional treatments (chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, epidural injection, selective nerve block and medication) but when the neurologist told me my only hope was surgery, I knew I was a sad sack!"
Richard wasn't upset about seeing all those doctors, but he was upset that he did all that and he was still in pain. His herniated disc was debilitating and he was afraid his life as he knew it physically was over.
When I looked over his medical records, what caught my attention was that his treatment recommendations did not include the latest medical breakthrough for relieving chronic back pain associated with disc bulge, disc hernia, sciatica, degeneration and stenosis. The new procedure — spinal decompression — is proved effective in the majority of chronic back pain cases.
"You're not going to tell me I need surgery are you?" Richard said.
"Don't worry, you won't be given any drugs, needles or surgery and after we heal your disc and nerve problem, you'll get your life back."
The procedure we use is a scientific discovery that most physicians, even surgeons don't know about. Of the approximately 467,000 physicians who treat back pain, only about 3,000 utilize the medical breakthrough, recent scientific discovery known as non-surgical spinal decompression. The procedure is making headline news nationwide and while it is new to the medical community, it uses no drugs or surgery and is cleared by the FDA.
Since the procedure is different, we're going to start with an evaluation to determine if you are a candidate. If you quality, you'll be excited to know that we get excellent results in our Atlanta office, primarily for two reasons. Our patients cooperate and we only accept those patients we truly believe we can help. Most patients respond within a month and the procedure is painless.
Richard says, "I'm on longer a sad sack and I would highly recommend the procedure to anyone suffering from back pain. It's like a miracle."
"People come to us for the relief of back pain and to enjoy their lives again," says Doctor Dembowski. "Anyone suffering from chronic back pain can call to see if you're a candidate."
